Confused About Skincare?

So many choices, so much information out there. How do you choose what to use on your skin?

If you don't have time for a virtual consultation try this...

Many of our clients have emailed us during our recent special. They want to try some new products but are confused about which to try. Many of these clients sent me an email telling me about their skin and their major concerns. Many have included a close up picture of their skin. This helps me tremendously in advising them on what to add or change in their regime. It even helps me more when they tell me when and how often they use their products. I encourage you to do the same by emailing me at beautifulskin@elizabethrenee.com

I also thought it might be fun to share with other clients your favorite Elizabeth Renee skincare products. Please comment at the bottom of this post what you are using and why you like it. The main ones I get so much positive feedback on are:

What clients are telling me is that unlike other Vitamin C serums, C & E Antioxidant Serum goes on nicely without stinging or feeling sticky, no matter their skin type. With long term use they see that there is a brightening effect (reduced pigmentation) and there sunscreen is more efficient when paired with our C & E Antioxidant Serum.

C & E Antioxidant Serum has a lot of science behind it concerning efficacy. Topically applied combinations of Vitamin C and Vitamin E are more effective in preventing photodamage than either vitamin alone. Accumulation of oxidative damage to proteins is a distinguishing feature of both photoaging (from the sun) and intrinsic aging (from inside the body). In addition to its antioxidant capabilities, Vitamin C is crucial for the synthesis of the structural protein collagen. The role of Vitamin C in the creation of collagen is well documented. Vitamin C also increases the proliferation rate of fibroblasts (the cell that lays down new collagen, and adds volume to the dermis). A capacity that decreases with age.

What clients are saying is that they love the fact that they are getting an effective moisturizer that also acts as a sunscreen. Less layers means a more comfortable skin, less heat retained in their skin and a soft, dewy feeling without feeling heavy.

Peptides are an important feature in this sunscreen/moisturizer. Peptides are one of the most talked-about ingredients in the field of anti-ageing skincare. When applied to your skin, they demonstrate remarkable benefits, revitalising your skin and making it more resilient and stronger. I recently noticed that all of a sudden dermatologists are now recommending peptides to their patients for their anti-aging benefits. (We've been doing this for thirty years.) While peptides in a serum are the most effective way to get them into the skin, adding a bit more to your sunscreen is a plus.

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as building blocks for proteins such as collagen, and elastin. These proteins are responsible for skin texture, strength and resilience. Without peptides, your skin can lose firmness, increase wrinkles, and there is a change in the texture of your skin.

When applied topically to the skin, peptides act as little messengers, triggering skin cells to perform specific functions such as building collagen and elastin, encouraging skin to look and act younger.

Extensive scientific research has proven that peptides can support your skin on multiple levels, for example firming, soothing and hydrating the skin.

Clients love this newcomer to their anti-aging arsenal. This oil free healing serum provides results that they are constantly raving about. Benefits mentioned are increased hydration, less sensitivity, brightening of the skin and softening of lines and wrinkles. Some clients are using this serum on specific lines of their face. Twice a day they separate specific lines (for example the "11" lines between the brows). Then, with the other hand they rub over the line to increase penetration and increase circulation in that area. The feedback is amazing. The lines appear to soften as the overall improvement of the skin occurs.

Stem Stim uses something called exosomes. Researchers have shown that exosomes harvested from bone marrow cells are even more effective at repairing sun-damage than popular retinol or stem cells alone. Additionally, the nanometer-sized exosomes are small enough to be delivered to targeted cells. A cool fact about skin cells: they are natural copycats. Scientists have long observed that when one skin cell is in homeostasis (a happy state) then neighboring cells tend to become happy, too.

That’s where exosomes come in. These tiny messengers contain peptides, anti-inflammatory cytokines and growth factors that are excreted from stressed mesenchymal stem cells to initiate repair. This serum does not use stem cells in as of themselves, but capture the perfect repair liposome like anti-aging healing factors. Think of exosomes as power couriers, pinging from one cell to another to improve communication, keeping them calm and ensuring operations stay in sync.  Stem Stim is not just exosomes, but includes other highly recognized anti-aging ingredients like hyaluronic acid, Vitamin C and additional skin firming peptides.

This is an Elizabeth Renee Classic. we've been carrying The Pink Cream for decades and it is still our most popular moisturizer. Clients love the super hydrating effects of this cream. What they also love is the fact that, even if they have very sensitive or reactive skin, their skin tolerates The Pink Cream very well, adding comfort and soothing hydration that makes it very easy to wear.

Some of The Pink Cream's healing ability comes from a type of seaweed called an extremophile. This sea plant, which lives in extreme environmental conditions has developed a mechanism to protect itself from environmental aggressors, say from extreme sun exposure. When used in skincare it's also great at protecting your skin cells from DNA damage. Leaving skin healthier, longer.

The Pink Cream also contains Glucosamine, a compound of amino acids and sugars  that make up the stuffing  that plumps up your dermis and keeps it strong.  It's been shown to accelerate wound healing, improve hydration, and decrease wrinkles. Ahhh, and it just feels so nice on the skin.

You may have noticed that the four products I've just mentioned are on our Today's Top Seller list found on our Home Page. Every day we look at what clients are purchasing and share that info with you. But you want to know more. So, share your favorite products down below, at the bottom of the page, in the comment section and everybody will benefit from beautiful skin.
