dry / maturing

Dry, mature skin is generally defined as post-menopausal skin.  At this time of your life your skin undergoes  a lot of changes due to hormonal decline and the accumulation of damage from sunlight, stress, poor food choices, lack of movement and to some degree genetics (about 20%).  Changes one normally sees are: loss of tone, lines and wrinkles, pigmentation changes, and a loss of vitality to your skin.  Dry, mature skin can have a thickened dull, leathery look from loss of blood flow, lack of energy to repair itself, and sun damage.  This does not mean you can't have beautiful skin.  Managing dry, mature skin takes a little bit of effort, but focusing on the above lifestyle challenges and choosing the following skin care regime will insure beautiful skin throughout your life.
